I believe that early cars had leaded seams and that the factory ceased
this practice as a cost measure at some point. From Clausager it seems to
have been around Sept. 1974, or roadster #360301, if I'm interpreting it
correctly.
gary & traci had this to say:
>hello listers

>I'm restoring a 64 b and a 69 c . both cars are down to the bare metal and
>have the rear deck seams and lower rear panel seams filled with lead.i
>sarted on the 64 first and assumed that some bodyshop filled them in .but
>after striping down the mgc it was also filled in with lead. my 77b has the
>seams showing .which way is correct for these earlier cars?
>tia
>gary and traci
>77 mgb(for sale)
>73mgbgt
>69 mgc
>2-69mgcgt
>67mgb
>64mgb
