Hi Listers
I just got back from the Monterey Peninsula British Car Meet. I had to
work Saturday (the best weather of the year so far....grrrr), but thought
I'd drive down Sunday morning with my friend Gary (69 B project). So I
awoke to find -- rain! "Bother, said Pooh." So my wife and I struggled to
put the soft top up (hasn't been unrolled for 2 years and was rather
stiff), since I had put the hardtop away a few weeks ago. But we managed
eventually.
It rained all the way down from Mountain View, but let up just as we
arrived around noon. We had spotted what looked like some escapees
fleeing up the highway in rain gear sans side curtains, but they should
have hung on, because the sun came out shortly after. We had fun looking
at the cars (the field looked a little thin, probably due to rain
attrition), then took the top down for the trip back, despite the
threatening clouds to the north. Made it back dry (just).
Rain in May! What an outrage! Did anyone participate in the (presumably
sunny) Saturday activities that could provide a report?
Somewhat windburned,

Runs great,
looks particularly bad since some SUV clown backed into it.
If you're near Mountain View, CA,
it's the red one with the silver bootlid.
