wood dashes

someone was mentioning wood dashes a few posts back.
When I was looking at prospective MGs, I drove a Midget with a custom
wood dash.  I do not remember what type of wood, but he even had the
steering column done in wood.  Very nice, but he also had some wood (a
2x4) under the batttery in the engine compartment, and had a few other
problems, (transmission, etc.) and was asking a bit too much.
So I ended up with my MGB, which just got its name:  LUCAS
What do you think?
