I had similar problems with the car that I bought about a year and a half
ago. It came with a weber and the allision. It would not idle as low as
it was supposed to. And as I drove it it became increasing troublesome
with backfiring and lack of power. I tried adjusting the carbutrator, but
that never appeared to do much other than lift the idle. I eventually
replaced the allision with the petronix hall effect system and the
backfiring and lack of power went away. I am not sure that I like the
chopper and sensor in the allision. It does look to me, from an optical
engineering background, to not be as good a system as it could be. I tried
putting a scope on the car to look at the problem, but it would never not
work when sitting.
