Hi folks,
The unnamed 77B is running well, engine is quiet, oil pressure seldom
comes down from 75psi. A problem with using the hardtop is that drivetrain
noises are much more noticeable. The B's differential howls like a wounded
banshee at highway speeds. It quiets down if the load is removed, e.g.,
cresting a hill or feathering the throttle. I'm guessing that the differential
bearings are due to be replaced. I'm not so sure that this is a DYI project
that I want to handle. Anybody with experience along these lines that would be
share it with me? Any idea of shop costs to have it done? Thanks.
BTW, this noise is still there after replacing the fluid with Redline 75W90.
