Repair '67 MGB tach?

Can anyone on the list provide hints for repairing
the tach on a '67 MGB?


I'm wondering if someone on the list has reverse-engineered
the inner workings of the tach.

Any precautions on opening the case?

I will be attempting to fix one which works but reads
way too high (2-3X the actual RPM).
