Hi there! I ended up using a piece of coat-hanger wire filed dow=
n
to 1/32" thick with a 1/32" hook on the end. It is fiddly work and
requires some patience - you need to "hook" a kind of star washer and
gently pull it from it's recess. This is by feel only - you cannot see
what is going on down there. Obviously, be careful not to scratch the
bore.
After you manage to get this washer out, the O-ring just falls ou=
t.
Take it down to the hardware store and get a replacement for 10c. Put
this in, followed by the star washer. Carefully push down (with a Philip=
s
screwdriver) on the center of the washer and it snaps back into the reces=
s,
no prob.
Best of all it works! No more leaking dashpot oil!
