I once had an MGB that the splines were so worn the wheels would spin when
I hit the brakes.
I pulled them off, smeared the splines with bondo (It happened to be handy)
and stuck them back on.
They worked great for the next couple of years and then I gave the car to a
friend.
I've often wondered if I could have gotten them off if I'd had to change a
tire.
I also put a 302 V8 in my TR-4,...so I guess I''ll probably fry as a
heretic anyway. (I was young)
Other than replacing the captured Whitworth nuts in my TD with
stainless,...at least it's still stock.
