Matt, Thanks for the suggestion to check the coolant. Yeah, that's the first thing I checked, along with checking the oil level. Both were OK. I've heard of "heat soak" before so I expect the temp to increase somewha= t when the engine, and fan, is turned off. However, the needle really shot= way off scale. Well, if there is nothing I can do about it and it seizes up someday, at least it'll save me the bother of replacing the big end bearing, which it= needs. Regards, Adrian |
