But inspite of all this, they have one serious problem, THEY ARE NOT A
HARLEY!
To cut to the chase (and let the flames start) the car we all want is
available
today. The only problem is the MG octagon is nowwhere to be found, it is not
English "irron." We just can't stomach the fact it is a M***a!

The problem with the rice burners as well as the Miata can be easily summed
up:
They are knockoffs......copies........repros.....non-originals.
Granted that the B is a flawed design by todays standards, but when
introduced, it knocked EVERYONES socks off. The B is the reason for the
demise of the TR3 as well as major redesigns by a lot of car makers. MG's
advance was once again squandered and the poor old B slogged onward for
nearly 20 years (we're talking VW Beetle territory here, not a place that a
sports car wants to occupy!)
At its demise, the B was outselling the junk-box TR7 by a large volumn, in
spite of BL upping the price of the B and using dump tactics for the TR7-8
(Which were miserable cars......I remember the Road and Track survey in which
about 70% of the owners said they would never own another! R&T commented
that it was the highest dis-satisfaction ratio on record!)
The Miata is a nice little knock-off of the Lotus. It comes with a/c and
automatic...very easy to drive.......but they are just a retromobile. The
best car designs are never brought forth by merely copying another car.
As to the Harley.............that's another deal entirely. The Japs keep
trying, but they can't quite get it right........because they are only
copying.
I look forward to renting and driving the MGF in England on vacation nest
year!
Safety Fast!
Best Regards,
