My 72 b had the same oil consumption problem. My odometer said 79,000 but I can't confirm its accuracy. After the rebuild, the rebuilder said that the only thing that he found that would contribute to such high oil consumption was the rings. They weren't excessively worn but he said they had absolutely no tension when compressed and I would have gotten excessive blow by. By the way, I know of an overdrive transmission in MA. from a 1972 B with about 70, 000 miles. Eric Zambori eaz@snet.net |
