| Subject: | Moss MGA Water Pump Break-in |

I have rebuilt my MGA 1500 engine. The machinist says to start the
engine and run it at 2000 rpm for 20 minutes. Now, the Moss catalog says to
run the water pump dry for 30 seconds to ensure a leak-free seal. I don't
know if I want to do all the acrobatics necessary to accomplish both of these
requirements. Has anyone brokin' an MGA water pump by placing it in a vise
and rotating the impeller with a power or pneumatic tool?
Thanks for the help...Joe Ratigan - 58 MGA Roadster...
