I would say that it's ok. The ciagarrette lighter or accessories draw a lot
of current and I believe that the wire going to it was huge, bigger than the
od harness wire...

I am contemplating the wiring for the O.D. transmission that I am
preparing to install in my 77B. I am not using the standard knob
mounted switch, and plan to mount a toggle switch in the hole normally
occupied by the cigarrette lighter. Since the 12V is already there for
the lighter, I am wondering if I can use that circuit for the O.D.

The O.D. draws about 2 amps when active. I am curious what the list
thinks about running 2 amps more or less continuously through the
lighter circuit - is this wire likely to heat up, or worse?

Regards,

Chris Delling
