I have hazy, ugly and distant by years past memories of using a loop of bailing wire, held through to shift boot hole or u-joint lube hole, with the drive shaft being rotated by an accomplice oops! I meant assistant, and after some interminable amount of time, struggle and damaged body parts (mine, not the car's!) getting it all back together! (One of the reasons why I then sold the car and bought my first MGB) Best of luck... |
