I don't remember any of my other mg's having two stops before
they got to the starter switch. I'm sure my 72 doesn't (cuz i just ran
out and checked). If your not hearing the fuel pump run at the first
stop try wiring the pump directly to see if it's burned out. If it does
run then try starting the car with the pump wired on. If it starts then
obviously your problem is somewhere in the wiring to the fuel pump, but
who ever heard of a mg with a wiring problem?
Seriously, before changing the ignition switch I would look for
another gremlin.
