Is it customary to heat treat castings? I thought it was for billet or
stamped where treating stresses and hardening was applied. Years ago I
worked in aluminum foundries and nothing was heat treated... One of 'us'
listers out there is a metallurgical engineer, I think. I'd like to read his
input. It would be interesting to see what vocations we encompass - since we
all share at least one gene.
