We found a "different" Lucas voltage regulator in our British car stuff:
elongated hexagon (3" x 5-5/8")

37056A 8 46
Can anyone identify this critter? If the "8 46" is the production date, then
it's probably for a pre-war car, but we can't think of any MG that had a 6V
system.
