Its really very simple!
You should think about the stationary versus the rotating pieces. The
left front stub axle is stationary but the wheel is turning clockwise
when the vehicle is going forwards. If you had a right hand threaded
nut, the wheel would try to undo it. With a left hand threaded nut,
the wheel will tend to tighten it. Hence the hub nut is LH thread.
The knock-offs are different in that both the hub and the "nut" are
turning in the same direction but you want the nuts to tighten rather
than loosen as you drive along. Hence the knock-offs on the left side
of the car are RH thread and those on the right are LH thread.
