The 8 by 1.00 mm Helicoil is available from Helicoil in the US. 
I had my local car parts supplier order it for me.  I had to wait
a while as it was back ordered direct to the factory.  It was a
little expensive, about $85 including the extra tube of inserts I
also got.  That was about three years ago.

P.S. And yes the 8 by 1.00 mm is a common thread size on the XPAG
or XPEG engines.
