Hello Listers,

The more I read the more confusing it becomes. With regard to a cutout CJF2.
As I understand it this signifies;

Cutout, Junction, Fuses. As in CJF1 and CJF2. CJF3.

CJR2 being cutout, junction, resistor/s. These unit being used in brown on
the P types and the N types.

The main difference in appearance between the CJF1-2-3 and the CJR2 is the
units external fixings holes. CJF being horizontal and the CJR being vertical.
I'm not referring to how the unit is affixed to the firewall, this could
differ from the cars model to model. I'm referring to the fixing holes in
relation to the line of the coil or points.

Being on a learning curve regarding the predecessors of the PA and referring
to Green's "MG Road Cars Six Cyl, Volume 2", page 141, shows two photos.

 CJF1 (top) then below CJF2 (?), presumably this is a CJR2.
Then the caption describes that the CJF2 was used by the majority of the six
cylinder cars.

Presumably the caption is correct and the second photo is mistakenly issued.
Am I correct on this assumption?

The K1 used the CJF2, can a CJF1 or CJF3 be utilized on this model? Can
anyone offer enlightenment on the makeup of the various models of CJF with
regard
to summer/winter charging? Does this unit allow for it? Looking in Blower
page 243 it seems not to have any resistors fitted, therefore, not having an
alternate charging rate.

The K1 I have doesn't have the correct charging arrangement and I don't have
the correct CJF2 unit.

So, please, any education on the CJF units gratefully appreciated.

Oh, by the way, if you have one on your shelf collecting dust, you know
where to find me!!!!

Cheers for The New Year.

Brian Kelly.
