Many thanks to everyone who offered advice about my diff pinion bearing
problems. I have the diff back from the specialists now, already to be
installed and complete with taper pinion bearings.

I am now trying to assemble the rear brakes/wheel bearings to the axle
casing. It's all in pieces in boxes and I can't see where the seals go that
keep the axle oil out of the bearings. There is a felt seal that seems to go
between the hub and the brake back plate (inboard of the bearing) and a
paper gasket between the hub flanges, but thats all.
Should there be another seal on the other side of the bearing somewhere? I'm
tempted to put a modern rubber seal inside the outboard end of the axle
casing but i'm not sure.
Can anyone tell me how it's all supposed to be assembled?
Lyndon.
