Some quick casual observations before i go back to real work. Flaming not
so.. On any other newsgroup or technical discussion group the reply would
have been what I offered for a statment like that. Second I offered a rather
clear set of reasons why. Unfortunately they must not have made it through
the message length filter and took the trouble to e-mail a couple people to
see if they got a copy as it did not show up on my terminal after I sent it.
Third both google is your friend and the archives for this list are
extensive. I did a quick search for 'rod length' for the list archive for
this mailing list and ended up with pages of results and most on target with
full technical explanations as to the effects and important things to
consider. On most any borderline serious engineer type mail list or bulliten
board asking a basic question without referencing the archives would get a
tirade of responses none pleasant for the person that asked the question. If
this is to be a sewing circle kind of place that is fine. If a technical
resource fine as well and even both is fine with me though have no use
personally listening to the politically correct chatter at a quilting bee
though and seldom join in on that chit chat. In summery it is usually
accepted in internet list servers that those that both ask and answer a
question do a little homework so the same question does not get asked every
few weeks. If you read the archives and it is something like 'hey followed
these links in the old messages and could someboby help clear up something'
that will get you a positve response everywhere i have ever had the pleasure
to visit.. I suppose if I were to have a problem it is spend most of my time
on the net talking with other engineers about things that are new and not
rehashing the basics into the ground. They don't deal with it well and
neither do I as I am acustomed personally for people to use the available
resources rather than just ask for the answer up front.
If these thoughts makes anyone feel bad sorry but it is how 98% of the rest
of the world works..
If there is a typo srry but have to run and get to work
