Since it isn't a pressurized tank, almost anything that is weldable is
OK.

For one of the motorcycle projects I'll be welding up an aluminum oil
tank. Since 5052 0.050 or
0.060 aluminum seems to be the accepted thickness for gas tanks, is that
OK too for an oil tank?
I'm wondering as the oil tank will see a much higher temperature swing,
if thicker would be better.
It won't be formed much, so I don't need the bendability of the thinner
stuff, but I have a bunch of
0.050 left over...
