Bryan, re fast bikes hurting people, when the 1000cc Vincent first came
out the same thing happened.  The factory felt it necessary to put a
warning in the Rider's Handbook that this bike is so much faster than
what was available before, you will get used to going much faster than
before, so be careful a slow bend doesn't fool you!  Bill
