We bought this on Ebay for $35 with the steering knuckle and it's front 
steer, which is what we need to go with the Mustang strut suspension we're 
setting up. I think the rack can be narrowed by removing the appropriate 
amount from the middle and joining it back together inside a sleeve I'll 
make. The end of the rack will have to have a stud remachined on the end, 
which should not be a problem (I work on CNC Machines and have 11 at the 
shop). The last rack we narrowed was a Nissan and it worked out well, just 
had to retap the rack and make a small bushing to support the rack.This went 
with the 68 Mustang spindles we were using. Thanks for the input, Phil

ps followed Dave's suggestion and actually joined a Fiero tech group and 
posted a request for help, and already found a place to buy replacement 
parts
