Thanks Glenn,

Looks like this is the kind of event that would attract every Billy Joe Bob
from Texas. Skimmed through the 27 page rule book. Was amazed at some of the
things I read and did not read. They accept competition license from just
about anybody but SCTA, ECTA, USFRA. In the unlimited class (180+ MPH) Roll
cage requirements are based on driver experience!!!! 4 point with prior
experience. Speeds were measured using a radar gun during the last 132 feet
of the mile.
Granted we are all responsible for our own safety and no one is forced to
participate. The fact remains when a sanctioning body (NASA) like this, that
has little or no regard for safety it endangers those with little or no
experience that are unaware of the dangers involved. Its the average guy
that sees a Nascar driver on TV walk away from a 180-200 mph crash and
thinks he will be safe at 120 with these kind of rules.

Just my Rant for tonight!
Bill
