The only problem with the hand held is they don't transmit and recieve as
good as a CB with a roof antenna. A have an adapter for the mag antenna as
well (for my handheld)so that works pretty good. The little whip antennas
when laying on a dash board 5 or 6 miles down course might be able to
recieve under some conditions but they do transmit back to the tower. We
have this issue come up every year, the other problem is the battries don't
last, so you need another 12 vdc adapter for the lighter socket.

speakers, etc(I didn't want it permanently installed), I finally went to
Radio Shack and bouth a hand held CB. Best thing I ever did. Not only set
it on the dash, carry it out to the awning during the races and you can hear
everything. Don't get the very cheapest. About $140 should get you a decent
hand-held.

Any features (specifically useful for LSR) would be great to know about. I
have seen some CBs hooked to a loudspeaker in some pits but don't have a
clue as to how to accomplish that. Thanks to all, -Elon
