Having got the 200mph Club back to the year 1935 (Sir Malcolm's record)
from the earliest entry of 1937 (in the Bonneville program), it might be
good if they listen to Dr Mayf and accept and acknowledge the first ever
over 200 mph record.

OK so it was set at Daytona Beach (Ormond Beach) but some recent entries
(say 1964) suggest the committee can apply tolerances to timing sanction
and course used. The fastest member ever of the 200 mph club has never
driven Bonneville in anger (although he wants to still I am sure).

Being British, I would support any move to induct Major (later Sir) Henry
Segrave as the first 200mph record holder. A record set when there were no
minimums, as brave racers strove to be the World's Fastest on land, and
British drivers battled with US racers on the beach.

Malcolm Pittwood (aka Buckwheat), Derby, England.

ps Do we need to send KT into action again?
