Just walked in.... couple of highlights and I'll cover more in the future.
Don Wales... ( of the Campbell clan ) turned out to be a wonderful guy....
with a Job ALL the males here would envy.... seems he has the bad luck to be
a photographer for female undergarments....( couldn't spell Langeire on a
bet ).. Also happens to have a few skills in a race car.... We gave him the
keys to the Camaro and he did exactly what we set out to do... which was get
up to 157mph and gain a C lic. Much more then that would have required a
different set of gears and some Nitrous and it just wasn't in the game
plan..... So then we're hanging out with Bob " Grib" Gribble.... and he says
well Hey Don.... ya want to drive my car? so he inched Grib's car up to 190
mph.... to get his B lic.
The deal is Don Wales.... actually holds the British Electric car record at
142mph and has been just over 150mph in the car.... But this gives him the
ability to test the car on the Pendine sands and get it ready for the salt
in England.... without unnessesarily running the car for the lower lic's
passes at Bonneville.... we had long chats about shake down runs on the
salt.... and his answer was Perfect.... He want's to run the car up to speed
slowly but didn't want the added pressure of HAVING to go X so fast.... and
this car's batterys require amazing maintenence procedures..... So this was
a very well thought out plan and I was glad to be part of helping him sort
it out....
