FYI, we doubled our horsepower on our BBC in the fuel dragster going from gas
to 98% nitromenthane. I can't see a reason to not tip the can if you are going
to go fuel racin'

Hi Paul, documentation I have from the '50s and elsewhere indicates that
for a given engine, when you go from race gas to straight methanol, you
add around 10% power, and when you put 25% nitro blend to the base
engine, you add another 10% for a total of 20%.

I don't have ready figures for the effect of 50% nitro, but we do have
some solid documentation on the outputs of hemi engines built by C.T.
Automotive in the early '50s.

1.  '51 Ardun Bonneville Roadster Record engine.  284 cubic inches, 25%
nitro, 303 horsepower on the dyno.

2.  '52 Moller-Adams hemi heads on Flathead block for Hill-Davis
Bonneville Record car.  248 cubic inches, 50% nitro, 320 horsepower on
the dyno.

You do the interpolation with the 426 Hemi example, too hard for me!
