Interesting you should mention that about the "sound" of a thin block
when boring it, Doug, I recall my machine shop pal remarking that my
flathead block was okay at 3-5/16" + 030 because it didn't make the
sound they make when they are too thin.  Guess that's something an
automotive machinist learns.  Cheers Bill
