I'll add a personal thought to what Keith wrote. Unless a person has been to
the salt flats and experience an early morning sunrise, one can only imagine the
feeling of peace and tranquility that overcomes us. As we stand alone and look
into the sky, we immediately feel an inner peace within us as if we are
surrounded by a protective magetic shield - surrounded by friends. The love
that everyone feels, the lasting friendships, just several times a year pack so
much camaraderie into this short time, it becomes a life long memory. There
isn't a day that goes by that something triggers our memory of being on the
salt. From a smell of a storm blowing in, or the wind whispering in our ear,
to the sound of an engine roaring down the street. I'm sure without Bonneville,
your life joys would be much more shallow than they are now. Those of us who
have salt in our blood understand how precious this place means to us as
individuals. And if you have never been to the salt flats, always keep that
dream of some day visiting. Cris, who was just for a moment sprinkled by salt
dust.
