Group,
I remember the story being the source of a number of cockpit chuckles 20
or so years ago. I didn't hear the part about the hepicopter rescuing him.
The line back then was that he regulated his altitude by deflating the
balloons with his B-B gun. The part about not puncturing the balloons because
it would shift the CG sounds a little more believable.
