Bruce,
It was probably mine and the young man in question was my now 28 year old
son Brian. He's done most of the drag race driving since the car was built in
91-92. I have a NHRA ET license to 7.5 seconds but only drive the car enough
to keep my license current and do a little testing. It's a 120" wb and is a
bit of a handful in the mid 8's at 155-160. It's pretty heavy (1600#
w/driver) and hooks up well, but has a nasty habit of carrying the front end
for an 1/8th of a mile, to the extent that the wheelie-bar will allow.
My reaction times are so slow (.7 on a .4 tree) that it's funny.
This year I got Brian into the LSR car at both Muroc and Speed week. He
about gags on the word gggggas, but he still put some good numbers up. He'll
probably do most of the LSR driving when we introduce the blower motor to the
LSR car
