That's Great! I'm really happy for Keith, I talked to him on Saturday
after his 191 MPH run, which was a record speed. I asked him if he had
sealed the engine, he replied, I didn't come here to go 191. Guess he
wasn't joking. I saw his 196 run, but I guess I left before he went the
205 MPH.

We had a great time, I went 196.91 off the trailer, then Jeff went
191.947 after a gear change on a loose course late Saturday. He was on
and off the throttle to keep under control, so he felt that 200 was our
next run. Sunday I made an adjustment to our new secondary by-pass and
went the wrong way causing it to be rich on the low end of high gear
using up too much course, so 192 was our close out run.

As I have reported before, we were having problems at the Lakes with
loading up at the start of the runs and fouling plugs. I installed a
secondary by-pass that gave us a completely different car on gasoline.
It pulled strong from the minute it went into high gear, a feeling we
have not had in the past, except with nitrous on. The down side was it
didn't idle well, so I installed a jet in the secondary by-pass to
restrict the fuel relief, a good idle returned, but, unfortunately, so
did the lazy low end of high gear, my mistake! We are going to work on
this and at this time I believe we will go back to El Mirage next month.

As usual, I didn't get around the pits to socialize as I should. I
apologize to Rich Fox, Dave Haller, Katie, and others for not looking
them up. I did see and hear their runs, however. Jonathan Amo came by
our pits on Saturday and visited for a while, it was great to meet
Jonathan, a true Land Speed Enthusiast. Gene Barbie stopped by in line
and introduced himself, I knew the car, but had not met him. While
talking with Dale Caulfield, my chassis builder, he said that Gary
Foster was also there. A good showing for our landspeed group.

I had better get to work cleaning up equipment. The Lakes dirt doesn't
cause rust, but it is more difficult to remove than the salt.
