List, Dave told me a while back I'm just a young guy. Turned 60 last
Dec but I feel the boy of 17 inside me, just added a few years of
experience.

Two words of advice for the real young guys who want to last a long time
and enjoy it, listen to the things your body is trying to tell you, and
invest regularly via payroll deduction! I recommend successful science
& technology mutual funds, at least 'til the bubble pops. One more 'bon
mot' , always do the things you are afraid to do, if they're not
downright crazy. You'll go further and get more out of yourself.

Had a nice chat with Elmo Gillette in SoCal yesterday, and he gave me
his preferred tuneup for the Hilborn on my Ardun, so I called Hilborn
for another set of nozzles to suit. I hope for better results at Maxton
April 1. Unless something else is wrong, or I'm doing something wrong,
as Al Teague said once.

Another valuable resource just appeared here, one of my machinist
friends told me of a friend of his with a race-engine business in the
next town with a dynamometer. So I called the fella, who loves Arduns,
flatheads, and everything else in a racecar, and he said sure, bring
your next engine over and we'll test it on the dyno, before you even
take it out. Clem TeBow told me a while back that you can learn more in
one day on a dyno than in years of taking your equipment to the meets.
It's a real privilege to have the benefit of the advice of veterans of
this stature and others on this List.
