List,

Thanks to everybody for the welcome and the info.

I have sent an email to Daniel Wright (and he mailed me back with info) on
the models soon to be available, and I will check Jocko Johnson's website
again pretty soon on the models he could do (although sculptutres might be a
better description I think).

It is indeed a very big problem that one has to limit oneself.

It all started out for me when I collected model cars (diecast) but without
specific interest, and In a model car shop in Paris I saw my very first LSR
model car: the 1963 Spirit of America! I did not know what it was, but I
soon found that out. The problem with some info on the absolute landspeed
record, was to find suppliers for models. I did at the time think that there
were only very few models available!

Through the internet I found an address in England, and the guy supplied me
with info on the "Speed Record Club" who publish a quarterly magazine with
info on all sorts of things related to speed records: ASR / WSR / LSR
etc...including model news.

Now I know where to get it, there is so much available that I just have to
choose one by one. But hey, that is part of collecting! Moreover, I am
trying to collate all sorts of info on available models / books / LSR cars
in museums etc... into a website. Initially for the absolute speed record,
but I am thinking of adding to that later on with info on the various MG
record cars, the Colani "Automorrow '89" with the UTAH 1 thru 13 vehicles
etc.. etc...

Coming to Bonneville - one of my wishes for the future - is in itself not
much of a problem, but we have 4 kids at home with the youngest one nearly 7
and the oldest 14, so a trip to Bonneville is not yet that high on the
priority list.

Thanks for making me feel welcome. Will be in touch, and I hope you don't
mind my wanting to pump you guys for info in the future.
Arie
