Yeah. I meant "No suspension". I had been considering two options: 1.
The stock S-10 setup with coils in front and leafs rear; or, 2. Use the
early Ford frame with the Ford beam axle welded/bolted directly to the
frame in front, and a 9" bolted/welded directly to the frame in the
rear - - like a giant go-kart. Thanks to the input I got here, I think
I'll go with the S-10 frame and ride softly. Not to mention stick to
the ground better. I'm also looking at two body options: 1. I have a
Dodge Daytona sitting in the back yard, whose body would fit right over
the S-10 frame. 2. I'd like to get a little 1948 Renault CV4 I've
located. I probably want that more for nostalgia than for
practicality, because I think the Daytona body would probably be
cleaner. As far as I can figure, either body will let me run in GCC. My
team manager (understanding and supporting wife) tells me that I'd be
better off spending the $350 on a cage, tires, or fire suit or
something. Kinda hard to argue with that logic. (John, she was the one
taping my front end and changing tires on my car at Maxton on the 5th,
while I drank ice'water and spent my time BSing with Keith T, Tom
Bruch, Dave Hinny and the McKeekan brothers. I wish there was a trophy
for her, because she spent seven years doing similar tasks while I
talked bikes at Sebring, Atlanta, and Daytona.)
