Reminds me of a British Motor Club drive years ago. Some fellow was
taking his restored MGA on the run. He had wire wheels on the car. The
knock offs were labeled L for left and R for right. And this means left
and right as seen while sitting in the drivers seat. And NOT left and
right as seen from standing in front of the car facing it. Which the
poor guy had done.
Needless to say, about 20 miles into the drive he was bopping along and
got passed by his left front tire. Not much damage done. The wheel was
easily recovered. The knockoff, however, was nowhere to be found after
searching the area. I ran back to my shop to get my box of random
knockoffs, hoping I had one that fits. I did. We got the car back on
the road and headed home. He drove VERY slowly, until he got home and
remedied the situation.
