Pic. 3 appears to show a cast 90 degree elbow connected to the fuel line. H=
ow is the elbow connected to the short fitting that passes thru the bulkhea=
d? Is it threaded or soldered? You could consider locating a new hole in th=
e bulkhead that aligns with the tank fitting. To solve the length problem, =
you could add a fitting to the tank that threads in to the tank & has the s=
ame size fitting on the other end so that it is a short extension that will=
reach the fuel line fitting.Gary Hodson

Subject: [Healeys] Fuel tank issue
Hi all
I hope someone can help me with a problem I have with fitting a new fuel ta=
nk from AH Spares on my 100/6 BN4.
On attempting installation, I have found that the fuel pipe on the car does=
n't line up with the boss on the fuel tank (and there is no flexibility=C2=
=A0in the outlet pipe as it does an immediate right angle on the other side=
of the boot wall).
I had assumed the replacement tank would be an exact match for the original=
but, as you can see from the pictures attached, with the tank dead centre =
in the boot and as tight to the rear wall as possible, the boss is too far =
back and off to the left; meaning I cannot get it attached.=C2=A0 At a push=
I could set the tank off-centre, but I would still be about 2cm too short.
I have attached some pics to show what I mean.=C2=A0=C2=A0
AH Spares tells me to buy a new fuel pipe kit from them, but also tells tha=
t the pipe is of a fixed length and the bend I need to get it on to reach t=
he tank boss (as it is at the moment) is a little extreme and will probably=
kink it.
As always, any advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Paul Leeks100/6 BN4
