Take the wood block out (2 bolts, IIRC). I did this and 185/70s fit.

Interesting timely topic for me. I just put on Verdestines 165's on and put
the best Michelin 175 in the boot. It wouldn't fit. It keeps knocking the lid
support out of its capture. I was thinking of making the wood block a little
smaller. Any other ideas?
