For lubrication these OD transmissions ( in Healey, Sunbeam, Triumph,
Jensen, MG, Austin, Morris, Vauxhall, Volvo and many others) never use
transmission oil like EP80 or 90. Always use engine oil, 20W50 will be
fine, allthough SAE 30 is often specified. The EP oil contains additives
that will destroy certain parts in the OD and also in some instances in
the gearbox, as with e.g. Sunbeam.
