a few years ago one of our club members bj8 had the harmonic balancer, the
later type, self destruct at an event. i was able to determine that the outer
ring had come loose and we pried it back on and he limped on home. the damper
was sent to the damper doctor in redding california and he did a rebuild on it
for about 250 bucks. working fine so far. might check with him. hjim
