I am installing new wooden spacer strips under the seats. Were the original wooden strips installed "raw" or were they treated at the factory with some varnish to help preserve them ? The new strips from AHS are in the "raw" state. I'm thinking it might be best to add a coat of varnish. Thanks for your help.
