Weldwood Adhesive advice

Has anyone used the Weldwood "brush on" rubber glue for their carpet and
armacord  installation.    Like many others I would like to get started this
weekend hence the need for something now.
I prefer not to use the aerosol spray on glues.

Does it affect the surface paint or the carpet/armacord backing negatively.
