Mallory strongly recommends using either a ballasted coil or a ballast  
resistor in the circuit to protect the electronic module.  
 
I would try substituting another coil and if it still did not work I would  
suspect the module.  If you go to the Century Performance website you  will 
find some recommended test procedures.
