Well ---------------- in a very general sense, your mechanic may be
right - it is known that 'slippery' additives will mess up the cone clutch
in the overdrive.
Which is precisely why the Redline MTL and MT90 work so well - as I've said
before, they both contain friction enhancing properties. All I can say is
that dozens, maybe hundreds of us have been using it for years with
beneficial results, not only in Healeys - I use it in my Toyota 5-speed
equipped BJ8, and I know of many MG and Jaguar owners who swear by it as
well.
Try it, you'll like it!

Subject: synthetic REdline Trans fluid
I was talking to a mechanic earlier this year and was told that you should
not use synthetic fluid in the overdrive because it is too slippery. Any
comments?
