G'day Allen

I had a Daimler 250 V8 until I traded it on the Healey - I still have a
spare pair of carbs (from which I've pinched a few bits, including the
dashpot screws, for the Healey) There are no spring washers nor have I ever
seen any on all the SU carbed cars I've has over the last 40 years - must be
a PO addition. The Daimler workshop manual doesn't show any (although my
copy isn't all that clear) - I did have an original parts manual until
recently but I sold it along with a few remaining spares. I do however have
original SU manuals for H and HS carbs, neither of which shows spring
washers. I can't see that HDs would be different.

Incidentally, there's a very good Daimler & Lanchester Club in New Zealand
that has a spares service better than most commercial sources. They still
don't appear to have a web site, but the contact details I have are:

Daimler & Lanchester Owners' in NZ Spare Parts Club Inc
PO Box 101, Kaiapoi, Pres: John Galey, 03 313 6003, Hon Sec: Gordon
Somerville, ph/fax 03 327 7616.

Cheers

Peter

PS You can buy "my" Daimler here:

for rather more than they gave me for it!!
