LBC question (Non Healey)

I know there are a few MG TD owners on this list, so I hope nobody 
minds the non-Healey content!
My uncle is working on his TD project and he just emailed me looking 
for ideas/ suggestions: he's removed all eight bolts that secure the 
oil pump, but can't seem to dislodge it- it appears to be held on 
only by a gasket! Any ideas?
