It's kindof light tar-paper like stuff...... I don't think it has a lot of
insulation effect, --but if you are trying to make the car original, it
belongs there..... Maybe it has some minor advantage in avoiding electrical
shorting to the inside firewall?

Hi all: How critical is the insulation (seems very thin) piece that is
applied to the interior and top side of the fire wall? I just found the
pieces (3) in my pile of parts. I'll have to remove a few items that I have
already installed.
